Who We Are



Miss Kelsey's Dance Studio is a family friendly dance studio offering classes for ages 1.5 through Adults, with competitive and non-competitive programs. Our pre-school program is our most popular program designed to provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment for our youngest dancers to express themselves through movement while building a solid foundation for their dance education.

Our staff have extensive dance training to provide our students with a quality dance education. All of our staff stay current with choreography and class offerings by attending some of the best workshops dance has to offer several times a year.

Staff



Miss Kelsey



Owner



Miss Kelsey started dancing at the age of three under the direction of Jim Caisse and is trained in all dance disciplines including Tap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Modern, Ballet and Pointe. Miss Kelsey has performed and competed in Bermuda, New York City, Las Vegas, Disney World, Mexico and aboard the Norwegian Majesty and Enchanted Isle cruise ships. Her dance accomplishments include: multi-Platinum Award Winner for her many dance solos in various competitions. She was also crowned with a national title from DEA in Las Vegas. She is a five-time DEA Scholarship Award Winner as well as a six-time Special Judge's Award Winner including "Broadway Bound", "Best Look", “High Energy" and "Intricate Rhythms" Awards. She has attended workshops from the talents of the New York City Rockettes and such dance notables as Mia Michaels, Brian Freidman, Dave Scott, Napoleon & Tabitha, Wade Robson, Al Gilbert, Henry LeTang, Frank Hatchett, Joe Istre, Jermaine Brown, Pam Bolling, Juan Sanchez and many others.


Miss Kelsey is a graduate of Dean College having earned a degree in dance. She is also a member of International Dance Entrepreneurs Association (I.D.E.A) . Miss Kelsey obtained her Dance Teacher Certification through Dance Educators of America's Teacher Certification Program at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. Over the years, Miss Kelsey has taught in Massachusetts and locally in New Hampshire. Her competition dance pieces have won many awards including high scores and special judge's awards.


In 2016 and 2018, Miss Kelsey's Dance Team was selected and traveled to perform in Disney World. Miss Kelsey is certified through Integrative Rhythm Works in which hip-hop and dance are used as a form of therapy to help students with special needs and disabilities.



Miss Sydney



Instructor and Leveled Program Director



Miss Sydney grew up within the southern NH dance community. She was fortunate to learn under the direction of Stacy Smith, Melissa Hoffman, and Heidi Sullivan-Laroche. Miss Sydney is most critically trained in the styles of ballet, pointe, and jazz but she is well-versed in many other styles including hip hop, acro, lyrical, modern, and tap.

Miss Sydney was a competitive dancer for the majority of her dancing years. During this time she won many high scores and titles at both local and national events. Miss Sydney has had the opportunity to learn from many amazing local choreographers including Sandi Duncan, Michelle Tolson and Lisa Pilato. Later on in her dancing career, Miss Sydney became more rigorous in her ballet training. She participated in classes under the direction of Dmitri Roudnev’s Summer Russian Ballet Intensive for four years and has performed many roles in The Nutcracker Ballet.

Miss Sydney is a graduate of Plymouth State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She has had the pleasure of teaching third grade and special needs students. Currently, Miss Sydney runs her own private tutoring business.

Miss Sydney has been teaching at Miss Kelsey’s Dance Studio since 2015. She is very happy to work and grow in such a warm and positive environment. Since starting at MKDS she has been able to continue her dance education, attending courses through Rhee Gold’s Dance Life Retreat Center and becoming Acrobatic Arts certified. Miss Sydney is so grateful for the opportunity to combine together her two passions of dance and teaching!


Miss Chelsea



Instructor and Pre-School Program Co-Director



Miss Chelsea has been dancing since the early age of 2 and has explored many different genres throughout her dance career. Miss Chelsea’s background includes training in modern, ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, pointe, contemporary, and hip-hop. She has built an extensive ballet repertoire, performing in different classical ballets. She has performed many lead roles in The Nutcracker including but not limited to Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Miss Chelsea has received many accolades dancing at a competitive level. She has competed in several national dance competitions such as Headliners, Dance Masters of New England and American Dance Awards where she was awarded the titles of Miss Headliner, Teen Miss Dance of New England and Miss American Dance Awards. She performs throughout the New England area with Nsquared, a nonprofit contemporary dance company.


Miss Chelsea first gained a love for teaching during her time as a student assistant at the age of 12. She has attended various teacher trainings at Rhee Gold’s Dance Life Retreat Center earning certification in preschool dance instruction. In the summer she is involved with guest teaching in various dance workshops.

Miss Chelsea has been enjoying teaching at Miss Kelsey’s Dance studio since 2014 and is excited to work hard and have fun with her students each and every day.


Miss Kyrie



Instructor and Studio Manager



Miss Kyrie grew up in NH where she began her training as a gymnast at the age of 2. In high school she switched into dance where she found her true passion. She competed at competitions across New England before co-founding Community Entertainment of NH, a nonprofit organization that worked with dancers across the state to bring performances to nursing homes, community events and provided additional competition experiences to dancers who may not have had the opportunity elsewhere. It was during this time that her love of choreography and teaching began to develop. She continued to hone this passion during her time at Allegheny College where she performed and choreographed for Jazz Dance Ensemble, Orchesis Dance Company, the Academy Theater and the Allegheny Dance Team, while also teaching and choreographing for Studio 83. She was lucky enough to find MKDS in 2013 and has loved every second of the journey with her students and fellow teachers. She continues her dance training through Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway and also participated in Tracie Stanfield's Construction Company and Urbanity's Underground Company.


In addition to teaching at MKDS, Miss Kyrie guests teaches at various studios across New England and occasionally acts as a dance competition judge. In her spare time, Miss Kyrie earned her PhD in Global Studies which she uses as an Adjunct Professor and Honors Specialist at UMass Lowell. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and her favorite dog Brady.


Kyrie's teaching is heavily influenced by her participation in the Danscend Council, an organization that focuses on the whole dancer including a priority for mental health. She is also acrobatic arts module 1 and 2 certified. Overall, Kyrie aims to provide students an opportunity to explore different types of movement in a supportive space while also continuing to develop a strong technical foundation in her classes



Miss Amanda



Instructor and Competition Director



Miss Amanda’s dance journey started at the Carlene Nazarian Dance Center form the age of three through eighteen. This is also where she started her dance teaching career as an assistant teacher. During this time she competed in many dance competitions and attended numerous dance conventions such as NYCDA. Miss Amanda was also fortunate to be invited to dance at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World, Florida and take master classes with professional Disney choreographers and dancers.


Miss Amanda attended Northern Essex Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Dance Education. During her time in college, she created and performed in many performances and attended the American College Dance Festival. After graduating, she was invited back by her school to choreograph more pieces for the American College Dance Festival.


After obtaining her degree in 2011, Miss Amanda went on to start her career as a dance teacher and choreographer. She loves the creative aspect of dance and one of her favorite things to do is choreograph for her students. Miss Amanda teaches many styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater and modern.


Miss Amanda is our Competition Director and was promoted the role in 2021. She loves creating dances for her competition team and really enjoys teaching her students about the competition world. She has also received special awards for her choreography and strives to receive more.


In 2022 Miss Amanda also became a mom and has a beautiful son named Jason. Balancing mom and dance teacher life has been challenging but also exciting! Becoming a mom has made Miss Amanda more excited about working with our little ones again.



Miss Molly



Instructor and Pre-School Program Co-Director



Miss Molly began dancing at age 3. Throughout her early childhood Miss Molly took classes in ballet, tap, and jazz. However, she was a reserved child and found she most enjoyed the structure of ballet. Miss Molly continued to study ballet from her very first dance class through high school. Barre exercises were the highlight of her week.


Miss Molly earned her BA from the University of New Hampshire. After graduating college, Miss Molly wanted to try something different and took her first tap class as an adult with Miss Kelsey in 2008. She fell in love with tap and has continued to expand her role at Miss Kelsey’s ever since - taking classes, helping behind the scenes at each recital, and finally joining the classroom in 2018. Miss Molly continues to grow and learn as a teacher through Dance Life Teacher Conference.


Miss Molly has a 7 year old who is now entering his 6th season as a dancer at the studio. During Covid, Miss Molly implemented a play-based preschool program at home. It was then that Miss Molly discovered her love of teaching though play. She is passionate about our youngest dancers and loves finding new, creative ways to bring play into the classroom. You will often find her wearing silly socks, singing songs, and creating playful activities with lots of fun props.

Mr Danny



Danny was raised playing instruments and dancing to traditional “Puerto Rican” music since the age of 3, but began Breakin’ a.k.a. “Breakdancing” around 10yrs old. His older brother introduced him to the art-form/lifestyle and he fell in-love with its abstract forms of self-expression along with the historical context Latino Culture has in relation to Hip-Hop Culture.


In the Fall of 2009, Danny’s journey as a Dancer, Instructor, Mentor, and Educator officially started. Since then, he’s received a Community Builders Award from the United Way of Central Massachusetts, performed for NASA, several local Parades, Multi-Cultural Festivals, and for State Representatives in New England. He even made a cameo in the music video “Just Let Go” by Joyner Lucas & Chris Brown.


He’s traveled across North America competing against and learning from some of the best dancers in the world as well as guest teaching, lecturing, and presenting his work at various Schools, Colleges, and Universities in Massachusetts. Danny is also a Fitness Coach with over 10yrs of experience training children, teens, college athletes, and adults.


His passion for sports provided the opportunity to coach recreationally but also at elite levels such as his time working at UMass Lowell. “What was once a hobby turned into an outlet that became a successful career” working with individuals of all levels, ages, and racial backgrounds.



Miss Collette



Miss Collette started teaching at Miss Kelsey’s Dance Studio in the fall of 2019. She started dancing at a very early age and developed a love for the performing arts. Miss Collette’s favorite styles of dance are jazz and lyrical. She also has training in ballet, tap and musical theater.


Miss Collette is very involved with local community theaters. She enjoys performing and volunteering in musical productions. Since 2013 she has been directing youth theater performances. Miss Collette is highly regarded in the local theater community and has had many successes both performing in and directing musical performances. Miss Collette graduated in 2013 with her BA in Education and Theater from Franklin Pierce College.


When she is not at the studio or the theater, you will probably find Miss Collette in Allenstown where she teaches Kindergarten. Miss Collette is so excited to share her passions of theater and dance with her students.
